The Prelude/Laceship (2021) Collaboration with Phillip Adams

A collaboration begun in 2018 with Australian choreographer Phillip Adams in which the 2 artists fuse their individual practices to create a hybrid form. The Prelude was created as both a live performance-installation and as a suite of four films made with cinematographer James Wright. The Prelude: Michelle premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in August 2021. The entire suite of films premiered at Melbourne’s Temperance Hall in August 2021. Performers: Phillip Adams, Michelle Heaven, Caroline Meaden, Whil McBride, and Rachael Whisby. The Prelude: Laceship was presented as a live performance at Temperance Hall in April 2021 with Phillip Adams, Whil McBride, and Walter Dundervill(via Zoom). The Prelude and Laceship were produced by Phillip Adams/BalletLab.
